Made from a dimensional mould not a die and tool that is stamped into metal. Art is made into a mould and hot zinc is poured into the mould. This process is sometimes called Spin Cast because they spin the mould to get out all the air bubbles. The mould cools and is plated. The mould is pulled away from the metal leaving a 3 dimensional pin. The back of the pin is not flat.
